Study Abroad/Study Away/ Exchange Programs Proposal
First of all, thank you for your interest in developing a study abroad program. We could not offer these life-changing opportunities or support our campus internationalization efforts without the support of our faculty.
Submitting a proposal is the first step towards leading a study abroad/away program or coordinating an exchange program. The documents below will aid in this process, but if you have any questions or would like to meet with us to discuss your proposal, please do not hesitate to contact our office.
Deadline: Completed proposals should be submitted to the Office of Study Abroad and International Exchange by TBA. Late proposals will not be considered.
365bet will not approve programs at destinations where a warning has been issued by the U.S. Department of State. Please check to see if the proposed country is on the list before submitting a proposal.
Faculty-led Study Abroad Program Proposal
Faculty members interested in proposing a new 365bet faculty-led study abroad program will need to submit the following documents:
- A proposal cover sheet, which needs to be signed by department chair(s) and dean(s) supporting the program. Study Abroad or Exchange Program Proposal Cover Sheet
- A completed program information page (second page of the cover sheet).
- A narrative of no longer than ten pages which addresses the eleven points listed on the Proposal Instructions and Form Please use this form to submit the narrative.
- Letters of support from the appropriate chair(s) and dean(s) indicating department and college commitment to long-range support of the program.
- A tentative budget. Please use this Budget for Short-term Study Abroad Proposals template spreadsheet.
Exchange Study Abroad Program Proposal
The process for submitting a proposal to coordinate an exchange program is a bit different. All exchange programs are subject to a signed agreement (template below) between 365bet and a university abroad. This process usually starts with a meeting between the potential faculty coordinator who has a relationship with a university abroad, and the Director of Study Abroad and International Exchange.

Review Process
Review of formal program proposals takes place each academic year. In order to be considered and approved in time for sufficient marketing, proposals should be submitted no later than the deadline date specified above.
Completed proposals will be submitted to the Study Abroad Committee by the Office of Study Abroad and International Exchange. The committee will review proposals based on the rubric below and will make recommendations. After the Study Abroad Committee has reviewed proposals, they will be sent to the Provost for final approval.

If the Study Abroad Committee or Provost does not approve a proposal, it will be sent back to the Office of Study Abroad and International Exchange. In this case, the faculty will receive recommendations to make changes to the proposal. Faculty should not be discouraged if the proposal is not approved right away. For example, one of the recommendations that could delay approval is the need to conduct a site visit.
CCSA Study Abroad Program Proposal
Cooperative Center for Study Abroad (CCSA) is a consortium of which 365bet is a member. Through this consortium faculty are invited to submit proposals as well. CCSA offers programs in many disciplines. These programs are located in English-speaking countries.
